New Directions is recruiting Teaching Assistants to work with our Primary schools in the Merthyr area. There are multiple positions available, including long term and part time, day to day supply.
We are looking for a dedicated and inspiring teaching assistant to help the teacher provide a creative and exciting learning environment to motivate and encourage students to show ambition, maximise their potential and embrace all aspects of school life to develop a wide-ranging skill set.
We expect you to exhibit a passion for working with children by performing the requirements below:
As a Teaching Assistant you’ll be expected to:
* Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers.
* Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes for students and help monitor their progress.
* Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities.
* Assist class teachers with maintaining student records.
* Hold caring and nurturing qualities to help support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
* CPD learning opportunities
* Multiple webinars/seminars during half term – Including, Team Teach, Incidental Welsh, British Sign Language, Assessment for Learning, Mindfulness and Well-being plus many more
* A dedicated and expert Account Manager
* Regular and varied supply work
* Competitive rates of pay
