Job Summary
You will provide care and support for people in their own homes in Harrogate & the surrounding areas. We are looking for people who are passionate about helping people and making a difference to people's lives. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care to clients in the comfort of their home, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being.
This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to follow care plans effectively. You will be assisting with personal care, meal provision, medication, shopping, domestic duties, safeguarding, companionship, and taking people out to their local communities. No experience necessary as we provide full training.
Due to working in the community travelling from house to house it is essential that you have your own transport.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team.
Duties
* Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
* Implement and follow individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive environment.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions to the nursing staff.
* Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the care home environment.
* Engage residents in social activities and encourage participation in recreational programmes.
* Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure a cohesive approach to care.
* Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes as required.
Qualifications
* Previous experience is desirable but not essential.
* Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
* Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
* Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes.
* A valid driving licence is preferred for transportation duties.
* A caring attitude with a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents.
