Are you a senior-level Mechanical & Electrical leader with a passion for delivering high-performing services that make a real difference to communities? We’re looking for an experienced Operations Managerto take ownership of our Gas and Electrical teams and drive the continued success of our in-house maintenance services.
This is a pivotal, site-based role within Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG), responsible for ensuring compliance, safety, value for money, and customer satisfaction across our M&E operations.
About the Role
As Operations Manager, you'll lead a team of Contract Managers and Team Leaders in delivering compliance and repairs services that meet regulatory standards and exceed customer expectations. You’ll be responsible for the delivery of servicing, repairs, voids, and planned works across gas and electrical disciplines – with a strong focus on safety, performance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of all Gas and Electrical services across planned, reactive and void works
Manage operational teams and subcontractors, ensuring full compliance with health and safety standards (including NICEIC, Gas Safe)
Monitor and report on financial performance, KPIs, and customer satisfaction, using insights to drive improvement
Ensure 100% compliance with gas and electrical certification across the housing stock
Champion innovation in service delivery, creating a high-performance culture focused on value for money and customer service
Contribute to wider organisational strategy and support the Head of Property in change delivery
Ensure accurate and timely EICRs and biomass boiler compliance
Represent WCHG professionally with internal and external stakeholders
What You’ll Bring
Strong leadership experience in a housing/property services context
Relevant professional body registration (Gas Safe, NICEIC) and ideally CIOB/RICS membership
Expertise in contract and compliance management, budget oversight and service improvement
Sound knowledge of building regulations, health & safety legislation, and CDM regulations
Track record of performance management and service delivery within reactive maintenance and compliance
Commercial acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence at all levels
Full UK driving licence
