As a premium grocer, Waitrose is different to other supermarkets, both for our customers and our Partners (employees). Our service and desire for quality, tasty food that is sustainably produced sets us apart. Inspiring our customers to share in our values and feel GOOD about their food.
As one of our Delivery Drivers, you’ll be bringing that unique blend of quality and Partner-led service right to our customers’ doors. You'll typically start your day in store, where you'll:
- Check your delivery routes
- Collect your van keys
- Load and prepare your van for customer deliveries
- Ensure all of the appropirate vehicle safety checks are complete
- Support other Partners
When you’re not out on the road, you’ll be back at the shop supporting the team with daily tasks like stock replenishment and housekeeping. Contributing to the efficient and productive running of the shop in a friendly and welcoming team.
Skills & Experience
Previous experience in a driving role and a knowledge of chilled vehicles would be welcomed, however, we'll give you all of the training your need to perform at your best, everyday.
Important points to note
To apply to become one of our drivers, you'll need a full valid UK manual driving licence with no more than 6-points and be 18-years or over. Part of the application process will include a licence check and pre-employment security check. A good appreciation of health & safety is necessary too, along with good driving skills – we'll ask you to take a driving assessment as part of your interview.
We occasionally close vacancies early if we see a high volume of applications. We'd, therefore, recommend you apply early so you don't miss out. Now is the time to save the job description too if you'd like to refer to it later in the application journey.
