Another Grõ Careers exclusive is now live…
An opportunity that few architects ever get to experience:
A client-side architectural role within a design-led London developer... where you’ll take projects from concept to completion, in-house.
This is the chance to join a small, ambitious developer with its own architecture and construction teams - a setup that gives you real ownership across RIBA Stages 0–7. You won’t just design buildings; you’ll see them built under your own watch.
The Opportunity
You’ll be part of a close-knit design team working directly alongside development and construction teams, delivering a portfolio of high-quality, design-driven urban projects - from boutique apartment buildings and heritage refurbishments to rooftop extensions and commercial-to-residential conversions across London.
Your day-to-day will involve:
* Producing and coordinating detailed Revit-based technical drawings and tender packages for planning, building control, and construction
* Coordinating with structural, M&E, and planning consultants to resolve technical challenges
* Attending site to review progress, resolve design issues, and ensure the build matches your drawings
* Contributing ideas to concept and feasibility stages - shaping early design strategy as part of a developer’s in-house architecture team
* Managing quality control through documentation, design trackers, and coordination workshops
You’ll gain exposure far beyond the typical architecture practice - from understanding how developments are appraised and financed, to seeing how design decisions impact value, buildability, and sales.
What Makes This Different
Most architects dream about moving client-side. This is your chance to make that move early while staying deeply involved in design and technical delivery.
Here, you’ll experience:
* End-to-End Project Ownership: Work on projects from feasibility through handover - no hand-offs, no silos.
* Design Meets Delivery: Shape creative concepts and detail them for construction in Revit.
* Integrated Learning: Collaborate daily with development managers and contractors - gaining a rare, 360° understanding of how projects are actually delivered.
* Small Team, Big Impact: Join a small, collaborative studio where your input directly shapes projects.
* Built Results: See your designs come to life on site, often within months - not years.
Who We’re Looking For
* ARB-registered Architect (or equivalent) with 1-4 years post-Part 3 experience
* Proven Revit proficiency, confident across RIBA Stages 2-5
* Solid understanding of UK Building Regulations, detailing, and coordination on London-based Residential projects (high-end market range and existing building experience desired)
* A self-motivated problem solver who enjoys working at pace and thrives in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment
* Genuine curiosity about property development and the desire to broaden your career beyond traditional practice
Why Apply
This is a rare career pivot.
You’ll work on live London developments that balance design ambition with commercial reality, gaining the kind of experience that architects in practice rarely access.
You’ll learn how design and development intertwine - and you’ll be part of a team that’s shaping the city one project at a time.
If you’re technically strong, passionate about design, and ready to see your work built from start to finish, this could be the defining move of your early career.
