TP Tutors are currently working alongside South Tyneside Local Authority to provide Functional Skillss tuition for pupils who are unable to be in a traditional school setting, particularly the Hebburn and Jarrow area. As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will play a crucial role in supporting individual to develop their skills in English and Maths.
The majority of the students that we support at TP Tutors have varying challenges, including behavioural challenges, SEN, SEMH and are looked after children. Our goal is to provide these students with the skills they require to succeed later in life.
This role involves:
* Planning and delivering high-quality and engaging 1-1 functional skills sessions.
* Assess the children’s progress and provide constructive feedback to facilitate their learning and development.
* Identify individual learner needs and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
* Maintain accurate records of learner attendance, progress, and achievements using our dedicated cloud based programme.
* Be aware of children’s individual needs, such as emotional support.
Tutor Requirements:
* Professional Teaching Qualification are preferred (Qualified Teaching Status, QTS) or a degree alongside significant tutoring experience.
* Experience of working with children/young people with SEND, SEMH or other additional needs.
* An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service, or willingness to purchase one via TP Tutors (support for obtaining one can be provided)
* Professional references from your two most recent employers, totalling 24 months from a 10-year career history.
