The overall purpose of this job is to provide a professional occupational health service to the business, including effective and timely health surveillance service and provide advice to managers and colleagues. You will be part of a new in-house occupational health and wellbeing team, that is bringing health surveillance directly to our employees.

1. Deliver a range of health surveillance activities and other key occupational health requirements to the wider workforce, covering industrial and non-industrial employees, in line with current HSE guidance and company requirements
2. Work as part of the in-house team, being agile, acting on feedback from the business, continuously improving and delivering a quality service to meet customer requirements
3. Advise on legislative health requirements and health and wellbeing in general
4. Carry out monitoring of physical agents and feedback findings to allow the SHE management team to enable better controls to be established
5. Health Surveillance and Fit for Work assessments
6. Carry out a range of health surveillance activities, including undertaking health spirometry, audiology, skin assessment and Hand Arm Vibration assessments under indirect supervision of an Occupational Health Nurse/Advisor
7. Undertake vision, colour vision, height, weight, blood pressure and pulse assessments
8. Undertake Display Screen Equipment, lone worker and night worker assessments
9. Generate clear, concise and accurate outcome reports
10. Report any abnormal findings or causes for concern
11. Ensure care, correct use and calibration of equipment
What you will need
12. Experience in an OH technician role or proven background in an OH setting. Someone with transferable skills may be considered.
13. Demonstrate excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
14. Support wider team and company communications
15. Sensitive and professional management of individuals
16. Flexible approach
17. Ability to adapt to unexpected and varied circumstances
18. Ability to work under your own initiative, prioritise tasks and work to deadlines
19. Proven experience in maintaining confidentiality and data protection
20. Use of databases, OH specific databases
21. Experienced with Microsoft packages particularly Microsoft Excel and Word
22. Willingness to undertake appropriate training to support job requirements and activities
