Key Responsibilities
* Work with stakeholders to elicit, document and refine user stories and technical requirements for data and analytics projects.
* Translate business needs into clear, actionable technical specifications for developers.
* Lead the adoption of DevOps practices, with a focus on data pipeline and ingestion processes.
* Support the migration of legacy and citizen-developed solutions to production systems, ensuring compliance with best practices and organisational standards.
* Model business processes, analyse business needs, model system data.
* Stakeholder engagement, building and maintaining strong relationships and communicating effectively and consistently.
* Developing and executing test plans to ensure the quality of deliverables, complying with industry standards and best practices.
Key Outputs and Deliverables
* Technical requirement documentation and translation between business and developers, with carefully and consistently documented business rules.
* Creation of structured work items created as epics, features, stories and tasks in our ticketing software.
* Well-defined acceptance criteria with the Product Owner and subject matter experts (SMEs).
* When scope of work changes, production of clear definitions of the changes, and full impact analysis for the end to end.
* Ensuring quality assurance and maintenance of key requirements documents and specifications.
Person specification
Essential Criteria
* Extensive experience in requirements gathering and analysis, specifically in a data engineering environment. (Lead criteria)
* Expertise in backlog management (e.g. Azure DevOps) and facilitation of agile practices.
* Strong stakeholder management skills, the ability to clarify needs and commitments through consultation and consideration of consequences while focusing on user and business needs.
* Experience migrating legacy or citizen-developed solutions to production-grade systems.
* Ability to create high-quality user stories and technical documentation.
Desirable Criteria
* Formal qualification in Business Analysis such as BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis, or equivalent experience.
