This role is based within a values-driven alternative provision that supports students who have struggled to succeed in mainstream settings due to SEMH needs and behavioural challenges. Staff in this setting understand that behaviour is a form of communication. There is a strong emphasis on trauma-informed practice, restorative approaches and consistent adult support, enabling students to feel safe enough to re-engage with learning. In this role, you will: Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils as a consistent adult presence Support students with emotional regulation and behaviour for learning Deliver targeted interventions and structured support sessions Use de-escalation strategies to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively Encourage engagement with education and support long-term personal development This role is particularly suited to: Youth workers, mentors or sports coaches Graduates in Psychology, Criminology or Education Individuals who are confident, resilient and passionate about supporting SEMH needs This setting offers excellent opportunities to develop your understanding of behaviour, safeguarding and therapeutic approaches, making it ideal for those considering careers in education, social care or psychology.
