Legal Counsel (Property)\n\nPerm role\n\nReading - Hybrid working\n\nMBNL is jointly owned by EE and Three, two of the UK's leading and most innovative mobile operators. Working at MBNL means being part of a team where you feel connected, valued and supported.\n\nThe Role:\n\nThe MBNL in-house legal team provides commercially focused and efficient legal solutions together with risk management support across all areas of the business from property to procurement.
The team are responsible for a range of activities including delivering robust and legally sound contracts; dispute resolution and management; and supporting the wider Property & Legal function on all aspects of property acquisition, disposal and estate management.\n\nThe Legal Counsel (Property) will be responsible for providing high quality, nimble and commercially focused transactional property and property litigation support in relation to ongoing management of a network in excess of 20,000 sites.\n\nWhat you will do:\n\nAdvise the business on general litigation/property/telecoms issues and general estate management queries\nAnalyse legal rights and provide strategic commercially focused advice and/or negotiating (where applicable) with the Site Providers and/or their solicitor\nDeliver excellent legal solutions on target and to budget ensuring external legal spend is effective and efficient\nManage external lawyers appointed by MBNL to include approving documentation and ensuring that the external lawyers deliver: (a) to agreed strategy, standards and service levels; (b) within defined timescales; (c) to budget; and (d) with added value, and provide reporting / management information as required by MBNL\nAssist with establishing and constantly improving effective and efficient processes and policies, particularly with regards to leveraging the Electronic Communications Code\nSupport and facilitate project activities/deliverables on all sites\nWork closely with property colleagues to support their business requirements as well as reporting to the Shareholders \n\nWhat we are looking for:\n\nA UK Qualified Solicitor\nCommercial property or property litigation experience (essential)\nLandlord and Tenant Act 1954 (essential)\nWe would welcome applications from candidates with private practice and/or in-house experience in the above fields\nAbility to handle large workloads and to adapt and learning new skills\nExcellent Communication, Drafting and Negotiating skills\nAbility to work well and thrive under pressure\nOrganised, efficient, enthusiastic and resilient\nAn ability to work in a rapidly changing environment with complex and occasionally challenging relationships. \n\nNice to Have:\n\nVolume portfolio management\nExperience of implementing process change\nHigh volume dispute resolution / litigation experience\nHealth and Safety / Regulatory experience\nTelecoms experience\nElectronic Communications Code (desirable but not essential) \n\nMBNL - building strength through inclusion.\n\nAt MBNL we embrace equality, diversity, and inclusion.
