We are looking for a skilled and motivated Forklift Engineer to join our team. This role involves working on a range of forklift trucks and vehicle-mounted forklifts (Moffetts), ensuring all equipment is safe, compliant, and operating efficiently.
This is a varied role with occasional travel to Frome, where accommodation, travel, and food allowance will be fully covered. All tools required for the role will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
* Service, maintain, and repair forklift trucks and vehicle-mounted forklifts (Moffetts)
* Carry out LOLER inspections and certifications (Training can be given if required)
* Diagnose faults and perform necessary repairs efficiently
* Work on hydraulic systems, including hose repair and replacement (Training can be given if required)
* Ensure all equipment meets safety and compliance standards
* Complete accurate service and inspection records
* Assist with minor repairs on HGVs and vans (e.g. replacing reverse alarms and basic maintenance tasks)
* Provide reliable and professional support to the wider fleet operation
Requirements
* Previous experience as a Forklift Engineer or similar mechanical role
* Good understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems
* Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
* Full UK driving licence
* Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
Desirable (Training Provided if Required)
* LOLER certification
* Experience working with hydraulic systems (hose repair/replacement)
* Experience working on Moffetts or vehicle-mounted forklifts
* Basic knowledge of HGV or van maintenance
* Monday to Friday working hours (no weekends)
* Travel to Frome (2–4 days per month) with accommodation, travel, and food allowance provided
* Fully supplied tools
