What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Senior Combat Systems Engineer, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of naval technology. Your responsibilities will include:
* Collaborating with the Technical Lead to create and refine complex designs and compartment layouts that meet specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.
* Supporting ongoing Installation, Set to Work, and Trials and Acceptance activities.
* Investigating System Obsolescence for ship-installed parts to ensure longevity and effectiveness.
* Developing and sharing your technical expertise to enhance practices and processes across design disciplines.
* Assisting in the production and maintenance of design artifacts to ensure Combat Systems compartment layouts align with design intent.
* Resolving technical issues during Installation, Setting to Work, and Trials activities.
* Applying Systems Engineering and Lifecycle Management Processes to guarantee design viability.
Your Skills and Experiences:
Essential:
* HNC/HND in an engineering or scientific discipline, or equivalent experience.
* Understanding of the Systems Engineering design lifecycle.
* Experience in System Physical and Functional Integration during design, build, commissioning, and acceptance phases in a highly regulated environment.
We encourage engineers at all levels to hold an academic qualification in Engineering or related STEM subjects, and to pursue recognition as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through a professional institution. Support for achieving relevant accreditation will be provided.
Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered.
Desirable:
* Experience in the design and integration of Engineering Systems, particularly Combat Systems in a Naval environment.
