Job Description
Job Summary:
The Project Procurement Engineer will lead procurement activities for the Te2v Space Imaging division. They contribute to the successful delivery of ESA, NASA, and commercial space missions, procuring cutting-edge technologies used in space satellites. The role involves working within a dynamic team to overcome complex technical and commercial challenges, ensuring procurement processes are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with operational needs.
Detailed Responsibilities:
* Lead procurement activities in collaboration with Space Imaging Programmes, Projects, and Production Teams.
* Utilize subcontracts, supply contracts, quantity contracts, and purchase orders to align supplier deliverables with project requirements.
* Maintain business systems to ensure effective communication and control of supplier deliverables, including P2P and S2P systems.
* Develop sourcing strategies for technical materials and commodities, ensuring operational alignment.
* Manage the supplier portfolio by identifying, benchmarking, and selecting new suppliers.
* Optimize the supplier base to achieve cost and supply efficiencies.
* Apply engineering best practices to design components that are easy to manufacture across the supply chain.
* Build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers, and customers.
* Resolve supplier quality, service, and performance issues promptly to prevent recurrence.
* Use market intelligence and value engineering to maintain a competitive edge.
* Monitor supplier performance and quality through KPIs and development plans.
Requirements:
* Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders in complex, ambiguous environments.
* Experience in negotiating and defining contractual requirements and collaboration frameworks.
* Knowledge of space imaging technologies, including CMOS & CCD sensors, wafer processing, communication systems, electronics, vacuum technology, and metal components, is preferred.
* Experience in managing high-value, low-volume, complex projects, ideally in space or electronics industries.
* Proficiency with SAP ERP/MRP systems or similar software.
* Understanding of clean room manufacturing environments is advantageous.
* Knowledge of procurement project management, MRP production methods, supply chain, materials management, demand forecasting, and engineering change management.
* Strong skills in Excel and data management.
* Knowledge of value engineering and cost reduction methodologies.
* Familiarity with supplier quality management techniques.
* Proficiency in MS Office applications: Word, Excel, Access, Project, Visio, PowerPoint.
* Willingness to travel globally (up to 10%).
