Construction Logistics Coordinator
Location: 1281 GRE, Hinkley Point C, Somerset
Salary: £40,000 PAYE per annum
Breadth of Responsibility:
The Construction Logistics Coordinator manages material distribution within assigned construction areas, ensuring smooth delivery from the IDPA to construction zones. They serve as the primary contact for consignment teams, G4S checkpoints, and traffic marshallers, ensuring logistics align with project timelines and construction needs. Their responsibilities include:
1. Overseeing end-to-end logistics operations across assigned areas, ensuring effective distribution of materials.
2. Coordinating material movements for smooth delivery to work areas.
3. Acting as the main point of contact for consignment acceptance teams, G4S checkpoints, and traffic marshallers.
4. Integrating logistics operations with project timelines by collaborating with construction teams.
5. Defining and implementing logistics strategies with Site Operations and Delivery Coordination Teams.
6. Developing and executing logistics solutions aligned with project goals and industry standards.
7. Improving logistics processes to manage risks, boost efficiency, and promote sustainability.
8. Serving as the logistics contact for internal teams and external vendors.
9. Monitoring delivery timelines, safety compliance, and traffic management performance.
10. Using data analysis to identify process improvements.
11. Providing regular updates to the Construction Logistics Lead on progress, risks, and issues.
Challenges and Problem Solving:
The Coordinator will address logistical challenges such as:
* Escalating disruptions and coordinating resolutions.
* Identifying and resolving bottlenecks or obstacles in material flow.
* Ensuring compliance with safety, security, and environmental regulations while meeting construction priorities.
Decision-Making:
The Coordinator makes timely decisions to ensure efficient material flow, resolving challenges and reviewing logistics data to prevent delays. They collaborate with teams to ensure decisions align with safety, regulatory standards, and project deadlines, balancing operational efficiency with risk management.
