Due to an internal promotion an opportunity to work as our Regulation, Compliance and Conditions (RCC) Officer within Dudley's Planning Enforcement Team has arisen.
Dudley is considered the historic capital of the Black Country. An area with a rich heritage, located in close proximity to many towns and cities as well as extensive greenbelt, making it the perfect place to work and live. Dudley is currently undergoing a period of growth, which will continue with the extension of the Midland Metro, and through the preparation of a new plan.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual who has excellent negotiation and communication skills as well as a flair for problem solving.
The RCC Officer Post offers an opportunity for existing planners or recent graduates, or soon to be graduates, with either a planning (or a related*) degree or Planning Masters course, to gain experience early on in their career in an effective Local Planning Authority that is committed to supporting Officers Professional Development.
The successful candidate would be supported to deal with a caseload of varied applications and would be responsible for investigating, gathering and recording information accurately in order to assess and take appropriate action against a wide range of alleged breaches in planning control. The team has a strong track record of enforcement as we recognise that it underpins the work of the entire service and provides confidence to customers.
A full valid UK driving licence is required for this post.
Hours: 37 per week
Contract: Full Time Permanent
Salary: £31,537 - £34,434
Location: Hybrid working – From home and when required at offices within the borough
