Monmouthshire is continuing to enhance its provision for children and young people
with additional learning needs. The Inclusion Service continues to strive for
excellence, in a with a model of specialist provision that is person-centred, prioritises
wellbeing and access to learning to secure progress. We are seeking to appoint an
outstanding practitioner who is ready to take a role in the further development of our
specialist provision.
Monmouthshire’s model of specialist provision is for children with additional learning
needs who are in receipt of Individual Development Plans, with a primary need in the
area of social, emotional and mental health, in many cases, linked to neuro
divergence.
Our Teaching Assistants:
• enhance the learning of pupils with a wide range of learning needs
• support in enabling pupils to gain independence and participate in the
curriculum and in the general life of the school
• support in meeting the health and wellbeing needs of individuals
• provide targeted interventions to enhance skills and wellbeing
Monmouthshire’s Inclusion Service are committed to developing the potential of all
staff and pupils. A full programme of professional learning, training and support
helps foster trauma-informed, relational and restorative practice to underpin sound
pedagogy.
The successful candidate will contribute significantly to supporting our pupils as part
of an experienced, open and collaborative service. Full induction and continuous
professional development will be provided by the service.
The goal is to enhance pupils’ wellbeing and self-worth so that they can confidently
achieve alongside their peers.
