Position Summary
Band 6, 1.0 WTE permanent post for a Dietitian in the acute Dietetic Department at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
About the Site and Service
The service is based at the Aintree site of LUHFT, providing a range of complex nutrition services to patients across North Liverpool. It is supported by a medically led Nutrition Support Team and serves patient groups including oncology, gastrointestinal diseases, and both inpatient and outpatient care.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide evidence‑based nutritional support for patients with complex nutritional needs, working autonomously and managing a specialist caseload.
* Support patients on wards, deliver education and information to patients, carers, and health care professionals, and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams.
* Supervise junior colleagues and student dietitians on placement, sharing clinical knowledge and high‑profile dietetics expertise.
* Contribute to innovation, service development, audit and research; support the training of graduate dietitians and students.
* Participate in team and multi‑disciplinary evaluation, audit, and research activities.
* Deliver specialist dietetic assessment, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and management in relevant sub‑specialty areas.
* Act as a source of expertise in nutrition support/education and dietetics to patients, medical staff, health care professionals, relatives, carers, and all relevant agencies.
* Deliver education and training at all levels.
Qualifications and Experience
* Band 5 or Band 6 Dietitian experience is welcomed; applicants with Band 6 experience are preferred.
