Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical and electrical engineering/maintenance, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair various systems. This role requires a proactive approach to maintaining equipment and facilities, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards.
Duties
* Conduct routine maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure operational efficiency, and to help with the day to running of the factory, helping with production problems to ensure the smooth running of machinery.
* Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues, including working with programmable logic controllers.
* Read and interpret schematics to diagnose problems effectively.
* Perform welding tasks as needed for repairs or modifications.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
* Collaborate with team members to enhance maintenance processes and improve overall service delivery.
* Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests and ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
* Supervise junior staff as required, providing guidance and leadership in maintenance tasks.
Requirements
* Proven experience in maintenance roles in the flexible packaging industry, with a strong understanding of mechanical knowledge.
* Proficiency in electrical systems, including experience with programmable logic controllers.
* Ability to read and interpret technical schematics.
* Welding skills are advantageous but not essential.
* Strong leadership qualities with previous supervising experience preferred.
* Excellent customer service skills, demonstrating a commitment to quality work and client satisfaction.
* Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, for effective communication within the team.

Hours
Monday - Thursday 6am to 2.30pm and Friday 6am to 12pm (40 hours total)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £31,200.00-£40,000.00 per year
