Job Title : Shift Maintenance Engineer Reports to: Engineering Manager Shift Rotation 2 Week Rotation Week 1 : Monday to Friday 05:00 15:00 Week 2 : Monday to Friday 16:00 02:00 The Role: To swiftly respond to production breakdowns and deliver planned preventative maintenance on a wide range of Poultry processing and packing machinery such as conveyors, module and tray transport systems, plucking equipment, evisceration machinery, tray sealers, flow wrappers and vacuum sealers. To also carryout fault finding on PLC systems, electrical installation and carry out small projects. Key Responsibilities and accountabilities: Operate to a high degree of Health and Safety and good housekeeping standards Operate within the HSE protocols e.g. Permit to Work, Risk Assessment, Method Statement, Safe System of Work, Standard Operating Procedures Lock off procedures to be always followed to ensure safety of self and others on site. Carry out small projects, and modifications as required within any projects. Quickly assess the nature of breakdowns & act accordingly. Provide constant support for production and packing departments. To carry out PPM inspections & maintenance & to carry out corrective maintenance repairs on a timely basis. Carry out general maintenance as required including lubrication tasks / maintenance schedules. Job Related Experience, Knowledge and Skill Requirements: Essential NVQ level 3 City and Guilds, Electrical / Mechanical A thorough understanding of both skills (Mechanical and Electrical) Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship An aptitude to fault diagnosis and logical thinking A Can Do attitude Must be able to read, understand and work with schematic drawings Good General Workshop Skills Welding skills (MIG/TIG/ARC) Must be capable of Self Organisation & Self-Motivation Desirable ONC / HNC or equivalent level of education 17 th Edition I.E.E. regulations Competency in PLCs Experience of working with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) Functional Skills: Detailed knowledge of business and own areas processes and procedures.Recognised as an expert in your own area Delivers quality and accuracy in own work Able to cope under pressure and flex with peaks in personal workload Able to anticipate/identify problems and use available resources to provide effective solutions Able to act on decisions with the required amount of urgency Good awareness of a manufacturing environment Ability to work to deadlines Delivers quality and accuracy in own work Able to anticipate/identify problems and use available resources to provide effective solutions Personal/Interpersonal Skills: Teamwork and communication Chooses the most appropriate method and tools for communication.
