As a Senior MASH / IAA Social Worker, you’ll play a key role in safeguarding children by ensuring the right decisions are made at the right time. You’ll work closely with South Wales Police, Health professionals, Education and wider partner agencies, in line with the Social Services & Well-Being (Wales) Act 2014, contributing to high-quality information sharing and risk analysis. Key Responsibilities Screening, analysing and progressing incoming contacts and referrals Applying professional judgement to determine thresholds and appropriate pathways Supporting and guiding unqualified practitioners and less-experienced staff Participating in and contributing to strategy discussions and meetings Undertaking home visits where required to support robust decision-making Working collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure timely and effective interventions Promoting strengths-based practice and consistent safeguarding standards Hybrid working is available in line with the council’s policy, following initial induction and service needs. What You’ll Need A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/Diploma) Registration with Social Care Wales Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Minimum 3 years’ post-qualifying experience, ideally within MASH/Front Door services 3 years of professional references Full driving licence and access to a vehicle Please note: Only candidates with a Social Work qualification and current professional registration can be considered.
