Clinical Support Worker, Out of Hours, Community Health role at NHS Ayrshire & Arran
An exciting opportunity exists for highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Support Workers to join the Out of Hours Night Nursing team. This post will work closely with the Out of Hours wider team and carry out routine care for patients in support of and supervised by Senior Staff Nurses/Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities
* Perform clinical duties including wound care, venepuncture, medicine administration, catheter care and other appropriate clinical investigations, without supervision (training will be provided).
* Caring for palliative and end-of-life patients in their own home, including involvement in difficult conversations.
* Provide support to other members of the MDT including Advanced Nurse Practitioners, staff nurses and student nurses.
* Carry out assigned duties to meet patient needs to ensure they are cared for appropriately.
* Work on own initiative and refer appropriately to the Registered Professional. Lone working is part of this role.
* Travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Excellent communication skills, including effective written communication and a good working knowledge of IT systems.
* Willingness to learn and develop new skills; training will be provided.
* Be able to work independently with appropriate supervision when required.
* PVG Scheme membership is required.
