Location – Hatfield, Hertfordshire (Hybrid role)

£70,000 – £90,000 / year + benefits + car allowance
A Senior Estimator is required to join a rail contractor on a permanent basis close to Hatfield. As the Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for leading estimates for civil engineering and drainage work and working with tender teams in order to secure sufficient work.
Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor, and develop estimators to assist with submitting tender opportunities, including identifying opportunities and risks for each project.
* Undertake estimates and liaising with stakeholders, maintaining tender files with the ultimate goal of winning work to meet company growth targets.
* Provide support to site teams relating to estimates and key assumptions, alongside obtaining feedback on estimations based on actual project cost.
Qualifications and attributes
* Proven track record of working on tenders (between £1,000 and up to £3m) within rail drainage, utilities, civils, or a related industry.
* Ability to work with and collaborate with different stakeholders; excellent written and oral presentation skills.
* Experience ensuring tender submissions are feasible and profitable; willing to perform site visits as required.
* Ideal candidate will have progressed from a site-based role to estimating, with experience working for an SME on the railway.
