Position: Roadside Recovery Mechanic
Location: Bowling Back Lane, Bradford, BD4 8SP
Working Hours: 38 hours per week – rotation of early and late shifts: 6am-2pm, 12pm-10pm; 4 or 5 days per week
Hourly Rate: £13.45 per hour
About The Role
This role involves attending, assessing, and repairing minor vehicle breakdowns on the roadside to get the vehicle safely back to the depot for full repair. The roadside recovery mechanic will support the engineering team to keep public transport moving.
Key Responsibilities
* Attend and repair bus breakdowns in and around the Bradford area, driving a company vehicle
* Book out parts from the stores department when required
* Deliver a high standard of repair/temp repair to return buses to the depot
* Complete accurate breakdown records, keeping paperwork up to date and correctly completed
* Carry out any other duties that may be deemed suitable by the engineering manager
About You
* Must hold a valid UK driving licence
* Familiar with mechanical repair techniques and the use of diagnostic equipment
* PCV licence is advantageous but not essential; assistance will be provided to gain the licence
* Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
