This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with secondary-aged students who have complex emotional and behavioural needs, many of whom are on EHCPs and may be disengaged from mainstream education.

You will work 1:1 with pupils, supporting their learning, emotional regulation, and social development in a safe and nurturing environment. The role requires patience, resilience, and the ability to stay calm when managing challenging behaviour, including both verbal and physical aggression.

Key Responsibilities

* Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs

* Encourage participation, focus, and confidence in lessons

* Assist the class teacher with planning, resources, and routines

* Contribute to a calm, safe, and inclusive school environment

* Support pupils with emotional regulation and challenging behaviours

Who We're Looking For
* Experience supporting children or young people (school, tutoring, youth work, care, coaching all welcome)

* Proactive, patient, and adaptable approach

* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

* Strong communication and teamwork skills

* Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing

* Confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner

Teaching Assistant experience is beneficial but not essential. We also welcome applications from graduates and career changers looking for a rewarding role in education.
