Applications are invited for a full-time permanent post for a Senior Biomedical Scientist; in this post we are looking for an individual to join our team, working in a busy department at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, which provides a full range of diagnostic pathology services to NHS Tayside.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work in a busy diagnostic department, undertaking an annual workload of approx 50,000 surgical pathology specimens on which we carry out 180,000 procedures.
Qualifications
* HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist
* IBMS accredited MSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent (Depending on volume of interest, consideration may be given to those currently working towards their MSc, with an expectation that they must complete it within an agreed timeframe)
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Flexibility in approach and high motivation
* Willingness to undertake extensive training and completion of competence based assessments
* The Department is approved by the Institute of Biomedical Science as a training laboratory for pre and post registration
* The Department is a UKAS accredited medical laboratory No. 8682
Responsibilities
* Undertake extensive training and completion of competence based assessments as required for the role
* Work in a busy diagnostic department providing pathology services to NHS Tayside
* Contribute to maintaining accreditation and training standards within the department
