A leading UK-based Tier-1 EPC contractor delivering full turnkey infrastructure for renewable energy and power projects is seeking a Protection & Controls Engineer to support the design and delivery of protection, control, and SCADA systems for HV substation and battery storage projects across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design protection and control systems for HV substations (11-400 kV) and BESS connections.
* Prepare SLDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and relay settings.
* Perform protection coordination and grading studies to DNO/NGESO standards.
* Specify and configure protection relays, RTUs, and SCADA systems.
* Support FAT/SAT and commissioning activities.
* Liaise with grid operators and internal teams to ensure compliance and seamless delivery.
Requirements:
* Degree in Electrical or Power Engineering.
* Proven experience in HV protection and control design.
* Strong understanding of protection schemes and relay configuration tools (Siemens, GE, SEL, Schneider).
* Knowledge of SCADA/RTU systems and IEC protocols (61850, DNP3, IEC 60870).
* EPC or grid connection project experience.
