Job Summary
This is a pivotal role at a time of transformation and growth at Kilbryde Hospice. As Clinical Services Director you will provide strong visible leadership across our care services while contributing to organization‑wide strategy and operations as a key member of the Senior Management Team. You will champion clinical excellence, service redesign and innovation models, quality improvement and regulatory compliance across all care settings.
Strategic and Operational Leadership
* Dynamic leadership and oversight of all clinical services, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic aims and values.
Regulation, Governance & Quality
* Registered Manager with Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) and accountable officer for Controlled Drugs.
* Clinical governance, audit, risk and compliance oversight.
* Data protection, safeguarding, infection prevention and control leadership.
Clinical Leadership & Performance
* Inspire and support a compassionate, skilled, inclusive clinical workforce.
* Regular performance reviews, KPI monitoring, and continuous service improvement.
* Embedding safeguarding, infection prevention and clinical risk management.
Workforce Leadership
* Line management of senior nursing and allied health professionals.
* Annual appraisals, supervision, staff wellbeing and recruitment.
Education and Development
* In‑house education, training and supervision.
* Design and delivery of the hospice education programme and external links for professional development.
Partnerships and Representation
* Build partnerships with NHS, social care partners, GPs and third sector.
* Lead commissioning discussions and represent the hospice at strategic forums.
Additional Responsibilities
* Finance: monitor income, expenditure and budgeting of clinical services.
* Health & Safety, Health & Safety awareness and on‑call rota for senior management.
* Staff record keeping in line with best practice and clearance requirements.
Qualifications & Person Specification
* Registered health professional with current UK registration and degree level education.
* Extensive senior‑level leadership experience in a healthcare setting, business development and hospice budgeting.
* Knowledge of national frameworks, regulatory bodies and clinical standards.
* Strategic planning, operational leadership, workforce development, clinical governance and data governance.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, public speaking and leading through change skills.
