What You’ll Be Doing:
* Supporting the design, development, and operation of secure, scalable data platforms for high‑profile defence and national security programmes
* Building event‑driven data solutions that enable automation, analytics, and AI‑powered applications
* Developing and maintaining data ingestion, integration, storage, processing, and governance capabilities
* Creating reusable workflows and automation frameworks that help technical users work more efficiently and consistently
* Delivering configurable data integration solutions using standardised connectors, transformation patterns, and orchestration tools
* Designing systems that perform effectively in challenging environments with limited or disrupted connectivity
* Building and supporting real‑time and batch data processing pipelines using modern streaming and distributed data technologies
* Implementing metadata management, data lineage, cataloguing, and governance capabilities
* Contributing to platform reliability through monitoring, deployment automation, performance optimisation, and operational support
* Working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver secure, resilient, and scalable solutions
Main Skills Needed:
* Experience working as a Data Engineer, Platform Engineer, or similar role within production environments
* Knowledge of distributed systems and modern data platform architectures
* Hands‑on experience with data integration, streaming technologies, and reusable integration frameworks
* Experience enabling workflow automation and improving data processes for technical users
* Strong understanding of data modelling, schema management, and data contracts
* Knowledge of batch and real‑time data processing concepts
* Experience building reliable, scalable, and operationally robust platforms
* Understanding of monitoring, alerting, deployment automation, and incident management
* Security‑conscious approach with experience implementing governance, access controls, and auditability
* Eligibility and willingness to undergo DV Security Clearance
