SEMH Teaching Assistant – Secondary School in Audenshaw
Start Date: September 2025 | Full-Time | Daily Pay: £89 – £100
A supportive and inclusive secondary school in Audenshaw is looking for a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team in September 2025. This is a full-time role, ideal for someone with a passion for supporting young people facing social, emotional, or mental health challenges.
You will play a key role in helping students engage positively with their learning, manage their emotions, and thrive both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs
* Implement behaviour support strategies and emotional regulation techniques
* Assist teachers in creating inclusive and calm classroom environments
* Build trusting, supportive relationships with students and act as a positive role model
* Work closely with pastoral, SEND and safeguarding teams to monitor and review progress
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or SEND
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Patient, empathetic, and able to remain calm under pressure
* A proactive, flexible approach and genuine passion for making a difference
* Backgrounds in youth work, psychology, education, or social care welcome

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
