About The Role
As a member of the Gardening team at HC-One, you will undertake gardening duties at your Care Home, maintaining and presenting the gardens and grounds to the highest standards to help HC-One become the First Choice Care Home in the community. You will be responsive and flexible to the changing needs of the Homes.
As a Gardener, your responsibilities will include general gardening duties such as planting seasonal foliage, grass-cutting, pruning shrubs, watering hanging baskets, eradication of weeds, and tidying pathways, walkways, and driveways within the care home grounds. You will also maintain gardening machinery and tools, perform tests and checks, and undertake painting of external fences and garden furniture. Additionally, you will work closely with the estates team to undertake salt gritting and snow clearance as required.

About You
HC-One is looking for a Gardener who understands and will implement the Care Home’s health and safety policies, including emergency and fire procedures. You will complete mandatory and specialist training as required, and communicate effectively with residents, the Home Manager, colleagues, and visitors.
This full-time position covers multiple care homes, so driving is essential as a company vehicle will be provided.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect, and know how to respond appropriately. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training and undertake additional related training as needed.
