Materials Engineer
Hybrid - Bristol/Remote
£40,000 - £45,000
Materials Engineer will be responsible for supporting a multidisciplinary team that collaborates to solve complex, real-world problems associated with Nuclear, O&G, Renewables, Low Carbon Energy Markets. Managing small to medium size projects performing materials selection and corrosion assessment related studies. This role may require security clearance.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
1. Assist with Engineering Studies (Welding technology, Corrosion Assessments and Materials Selections etc).
2. Performing engineering calculations (e.g. corrosion & erosion).
3. Production of project engineering documents (e.g. Materials Selection, Corrosion Management).
4. Production of technical notes for reporting of study results.
5. Assist with preparation, checking or approving Engineering deliverables.
Job Description - Grade Specific
Essential Requirements:
6. Metallic and Aerospace experience
7. Degree in Materials Engineering (minimum) & Chartered Status or working towards Chartership.
8. Experience in relevant materials related employment, preferably in the Energy Sector.
9. Good Communicator and strong team player.
Desirables:
10. Welding expertise.
11. Non-destructive testing
12. Pressure systems design experience.
13. Experience in Reactor Materials & Chemistry.
14. Experience of experimental testing related to materials or chemistry issues.
15. Experience of working with regulatory bodies such as the UK Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) and Environment Agency (EA).
