About us

Arnold Hill Spencer Academy is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic full-time Food Technician to join our thriving and successful faculty. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of our Food Technology department.

As a Food Technician, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning by assisting staff with lesson preparation, maintaining equipment and resources, and ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient working environment in our food technology classrooms. Your work will directly enhance the educational experience of our students.

You will be joining a forward-thinking, dynamic team that is both welcoming and supportive, with a strong commitment to high standards and continuous improvement.

Student attainment and progress is above national average at GCSE and well above average at A Level. We are currently full to capacity in most year groups with waiting lists for students hoping to join. We teach our students the value of respect, how to act responsibly and support them to become mature, independent young people. Desired Criteria

* Previous experience in an educational environment
* Experience of using SIMS
* Good standard of education especially with regard to literacy and numeracy skills.
* GCSE Maths and English grade C or equivalent
* Ability to work calmly under pressure
* Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing
* Ability to work collaboratively with others
* Ability to work with school-based systems and specified timelines
* Knowledge of the practices and procedures relating to working with food.
* Knowledge of safe food storage and handling.
* Understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace.
* Ability to use office computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, email and internet systems
