Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
* Lecturing on a range of courses in Hairdressing;
* Undertaking other duties including tutorial support and associated administrative tasks;
* Develop learners’ practical skills through demonstrations and instruction in practical workshops and realistic working environments;
* Assess learners against identified frameworks;
* Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons in line with College policies;
* Keep accurate records for learners’ progress in College.
Key Person Specification Requirements:
* Teacher trained (PGCE, DTLLS or CertEd) or commitment to work towards;
* Assessor Award (TAQA/A1) or equivalent;
* Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Hairdressing;
* GCSE Grade C (4/5) in English and Maths;
* Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion in work and the learning environment;
* Up-to-date occupational experience; and
* Enhanced DBS check.
We welcome applications from Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) and current industry practitioners without a teaching qualification. The College offers a Lecturer Development Programme with support and training, including inductions, mentoring, and 1-2-1 support. Industry experts without a teaching qualification can participate in our ‘Introduction to Teaching’ 12-week programme.
