Fabricator / Welder
* Location: Saxmundham, East Suffolk (own transport required)
* Salary: £15.50 - £17.00 per hour (DOE)
* Contract: 6-month contract (potential to go permanent)
* Hours: Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week
The Company:
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established, family-run engineering business specialising in high-quality fabrication, bespoke metalwork, and engineered solutions for the agricultural sector.
Due to continued growth, they are now looking to add a skilled Fabricator / Welder to their team.
The Role:
This is a hands-on position where you'll be involved in the full fabrication process - from reading technical drawings through to welding and final assembly.
You'll be working on a variety of bespoke and batch projects, producing high-quality work to tight specifications.
Key Responsibilities
* Fabricate, cut, shape, and assemble metal components
* Carry out MIG welding (2-10mm) and TIG welding (from 1.2mm stainless steel)
* Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
* Perform mechanical fitting and assembly work
* Inspect finished products to ensure quality and accuracy
* Operate workshop machinery and tools safely
About You
* Proven experience in fabrication and welding
* Strong MIG welding experience (TIG advantageous)
* Ability to read and work from technical drawings
* Good mechanical fitting skills
* High attention to detail and quality standards
* Strong understanding of health & safety
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
* Experience within the agricultural or similar industry
Working Hours:
* Monday to Friday, - 07:30 - 16:30 or 06:30 - 15:30
