Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Educational Mental Health Practitioner to join the Kirklees Mental Health Support Team, covering schools and colleges in the Kirklees area. The role involves managing a caseload of young people with mild to moderate mental health conditions, delivering evidence‑based interventions, providing training and workshops, and supporting clinical supervision.
Responsibilities
* Assess and support children and young people (CYP) with mental health difficulties, including triage, consultation and low‑intensity CBT interventions.
* Provide case management and clinical skills supervision to trainee/EMHPs.
* Facilitate evidence‑based group interventions for CYP and/or parents.
* Offer specialist mental health consultation, advice and guidance to professionals.
* Coordinate clinical care, safeguarding and risk management within the Multi‑Disciplinary Team.
* Develop and review care plans, conduct risk assessments and set goal‑based outcomes.
* Deliver training workshops to schools, parents and carers.
* Monitor and evaluate service delivery, identify improvement opportunities and collaborate with partner services.
Qualifications
* Registered Well‑being Practitioner (PWP, CWP or EMHP); or
* Registered mental health practitioner (NMC or HCPC); or
* Registered social worker; or
* KSA equivalent accreditation.
Training and Experience
* Substantial post‑qualification experience working with children, young people and their carers in a mental health or community setting.
* Experience in Primary Care, MHST Services or CAMHS.
* Experience managing caseloads of CYP with moderate mental health needs.
* Experience in assessment, risk management and evidence‑based practice, including CBT.
* Experience delivering training to diverse audiences and providing clinical supervision.
* Experience working collaboratively with partner agencies and in educational settings.
