Overview
ATG INSPIRE Creative Practitioner (Freelance) Fee: £35 per hour / £175 day rate. The Creative Learning department engages local adults, children, and young people from diverse backgrounds through schools, weekly programmes and community projects. The role is based at Sunderland Empire Theatre, supporting weekly sessions, schools' workshops, artist development and additional opportunities. You will report to the ATG INSPIRE Producer and ATG INSPIRE Officer.

Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver high quality learning & participatory workshops and activities.
* Maintain effective communication with the CL team.
* Contribute to creation and development of education support material, project plans and workshop plans.
* Support evaluation of workshops with participants, teachers / group leaders.
* Ensure activities are accessible for people with diverse backgrounds and additional needs.
* Meet the theatre's health and safety standards.
* Champion the work of ATG INSPIRE, the venue and wider regional strategies.
* Operate in line with ATG ENTERTAINMENT company policy, including Safeguarding and GDPR.
* Complete other delegated tasks to support the CL department or ATG ENTERTAINMENT.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Exceptional experience in arts facilitation.
* Strong experience in a similar Arts/Education role.
* Experience working with diverse communities, including schools, learners with additional needs, children & young people, families, adults and older people.
* Outstanding organisational skills (time keeping, invoice administration, calendar management).
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills in a dynamic environment.
* Confidence to plan and deliver high quality arts and education based workshops, facilitate a devising process, project plan and self‑evaluate all work.
* Knowledge of safeguarding legislation, DBS procedure and best practices for working with children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
* First Aid qualification.
* Experience and/or understanding of working in a theatre setting.
* Chaperone licence.
* Experience working with young people identified as 'at‑risk' of leaving education due to emotional, mental health or complex behavioural needs.
