Elevate Inspire is proud to be developing a new children's and young people's residential home in Dewsbury an exciting opportunity to shape a nurturing, high-quality care environment from the ground up. We are seeking a passionate and experienced leader to serve as both the Ofsted Responsible Individual and Registered Manager, playing a pivotal role in delivering excellence in care and compliance.
Role Overview
This is a full-time, on-site leadership position responsible for the operational oversight and strategic direction of the residential home. The successful candidate will ensure the home meets and exceeds Ofsted standards, fostering a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the day-to-day operations of the residential home, ensuring a child-centred, trauma-informed approach to care
• Act as the designated Responsible Individual and Registered Manager for Ofsted, maintaining full regulatory compliance
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve policies, procedures, and care standards
• Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing staff team, promoting a culture of accountability and compassion
• Ensure robust safeguarding practices and risk management protocols are embedded across the service
• Maintain accurate records and reporting systems in line with statutory requirements
• Build strong relationships with external agencies, families, and stakeholders to support holistic care planning
• Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections, ensuring readiness and responsiveness to feedback
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
• Proven experience in managing residential care services for children and young people
• In-depth knowledge of Ofsted regulations, inspection frameworks, and Children's Homes Quality Standards
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of staff development and team cohesion
• Excellent organisational, administrative, and record-keeping capabilities
• Effective communication and partnership-building skills with multi-agency stakeholders
• Ability to design and implement operational policies and procedures aligned with best practice
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
Desirable:
* Demonstrated expertise in safeguarding, child protection, and trauma-informed care
* Experience in service mobilisation or new home registration with Ofsted familiarity with therapeutic models and restorative approaches to behaviour support.
