This role is based out of our Head Office in Maidenhead.

Position Summary

Following recent strategic investment, we’re entering an exciting phase of growth and are looking to build a high-performing finance team to support our evolving goals.

We are seeking a skilled and experiencedAccounting Managerto join our growing team. This newly created role reports directly to the Group Financial Controller.

The primary objective of this role is to deliver accurate, insightful, and timely financial reporting to support decision-making across the business and ensure all compliance requirements are met. Eque2 is growing at 20–30% per year, and this role is key to ensuring our financial controls, processes, and reporting evolve to match the scale and complexity of the business.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the month-end close process across all reporting cycles, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and maintenance of the general ledger
* Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with business activities for Group FC review
* Deliver monthly and annual analytical schedules with clear variance commentary, focused on material deviations
* Monitor and report exceptional or non-recurring costs to support business decision-making
* Oversee consolidation accounting across all group entities
* Ensure accurate and timely execution of payroll, VAT, and other regulatory filings and payments
* Maintain and enhance documentation of accounting policies and finance processes in line with best practices
* Review aging reports and collaborate with the Credit Controller to manage bad debt provisions
* Support statutory audits, tax filings, and other compliance activities in collaboration with third-party advisors
* Assist with the preparation of loan covenant reporting and ensure compliance with financing agreements
* Provide technical accounting support and guidance to the Group Financial Controller
* Collaborate with business teams (under the Group FC’s supervision) to support and implement operational process improvements
* Actively support the professional development of junior finance team members
* Partner with the Group FC on strategic and ad hoc projects aligned to the business's evolving needs
* Demonstrate ownership, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset across all finance and cross-functional activities

Required Skills and Qualifications

* Professionally qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent), having trained either in a top-tier audit firm or within industry
* Highly organised, detail-oriented, and effective at managing time and priorities
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams and influence stakeholders
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to analyse and report on data from multiple sources
* Proactive, adaptable, and self-motivated, with a hands-on approach to problem-solving
* Experience in a SaaS or recurring revenue business (preferred but not essential)
* Exposure to private equity-backed environments (preferred but not essential)
* Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar accounting systems (preferred but not essential)
* Resilient, able to adapt to change and maintain a positive, solutions-focused attitude even under pressure.
