Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.As a Quality Technician within Major Repair, you will support as we seek to maintain and improve the quality of machines leaving the Desford facility.**As Quality Technician, your accountabilities will include, but are not limited to:*** Conduct audits on fully built and machines undergoing repair following inspection standard work.* Record defect information in detail via electronic, manual processes or visual boards.* Clearly communicate defects to other areas and support area personnel as issues arise.* Participate in defect investigations and projects as required.* Support and train new team members.* Keep the work area clean, tidy and safe in line with 5S and total preventative maintenance (TPM).* Adhere to the company's Health & Safety policy and safe working practice.**The panel cannot make assumptions when shortlisting therefore please demonstrate your qualifications and experience on your CV relevant to the criteria outlined.****What you can demonstrate:*** Minimum 6 months of Quality Gate experience at Caterpillar.* Experience of the Built in Quality process, reporting defects and root cause analysis.* Possess a good understanding of assembly operations practices and process.* As a team member the ability to work closely with others is imperative, requiring team participation to achieve the agreed goals* Self-motivated, with the flexibility to deal with independent and team behaviours.* Highly organised and a keen attention to detail.* Must be flexible and support extra hours if required.* Attention to detail with excellent communication skills.* A desire to help improve the build quality of our machines.**Note: Pending the number of applications, the criteria for the position may be enhanced to facilitate shortlisting.****Job Title:**Quality Technician Major Repair**Salary:**£27,000 rising to £28,500**Benefits:** 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays - opportunity to buy and sell, Bonus, Contributory pension scheme - Caterpillar will double the employee's contribution Up to 10%, Contributory share scheme - Caterpillar will match 50% of the employee's contribution, optional flexible benefits including access to private health and dental care plans, EV car lease etc.**Location:** Desford, Leicestershire**Contract:** Permanent**Travel**: Not required**About Caterpillar**Caterpillar Inc. is the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, off-highway diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives.
