Job Description
Fixed-term post until 29/03/2026. Salary will be pro‑rated to hours worked.
Staff will work contracted hours in line with the needs of the service.
Main Duties
* Contributing to the provision of a safe, caring and stimulating nursery environment for all children.
* Supporting and implementing a relevant curriculum in line with national and local guidance.
* Planning, recording, implementing and evaluating suitable programmes of activities.
* Maintaining and recording children's progress and assessments.
* Promoting parental participation in the learning process.
Essential Criteria
* Experience working with pre‑five children in a relevant setting.
* Knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence (Early Level) and Pre‑Birth to Three guidance.
* A flexible approach and the ability to adapt to change.
Candidates must hold the NNEB (or modular equivalent), or HNC in Childhood Practice, or SVQ2 Social Services (Children and Young People) or SVQ3 in Social Services (Children and Young People). Successful candidates, if not already registered with SSSC as practitioners, will be required to gain this within 3 months of the date of appointment.
Requirements
This post is considered a Regulated Role under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020 and membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer.
