I am currently recruiting for a highly commercial Senior Business Development Manager to join this renowned, high-end events and wedding venue in the Buckinghamshire / Hertfordshire area. Set within stunning grounds and offering luxury accommodation for guests, the site hosts exceptional weddings, corporate events, business and educational summits & AGMs and private celebrations.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive business development focused sales leader to play a key role in driving revenue growth and strengthening the venues reputation as a market leader and the candidate salary package will reflect the senior nature of this role.
The Role
As the Senior Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities while nurturing existing client relationships. You will represent the venue to a high standard, working with high level corporate clients, event agencies, and private customers.
Key Responsibilities
Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities across weddings, corporate events, and private functions
Key account management of top tier Fortune 500 companies
Management of a small team of BDMs
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, agencies and key partners
Conduct venue show rounds and present tailored event solutions
Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets
Attend networking events, exhibitions, and industry showcases
Collaborate closely with the events and operations teams to ensure seamless delivery
Maintain accurate records and pipeline reporting using CRM systems
Lead on strategic partnerships and high-value accounts
Mentor junior sales team members
Contribute to pricing strategy and revenue planning
About You
Proven experience in business development targeting new areas, specifically, Tier 1 blue chip companies, post graduate education,business summits and top level AGMs
Strong commercial awareness and a track record of exceeding new business targets
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
A natural relationship builder with a proactive approach
Demonstrable experience contracting key accounts and leading sales initiatives
Strategic mindset with leadership capability
