OLG Recruitment is currently seeking Technologists for our client located in Scunthorpe. This is a full-time, permanent position.
As a Technologist, you will serve as the technical conscience of the site, utilizing data to identify trends, present performance insights, and drive continuous improvement. You will support the resolution of quality issues and develop proactive solutions that directly impact customers. The environment is fast-paced and customer-focused, with a diverse product range and evolving market demands, especially in the automotive sector. You'll work closely with clients across oil & gas, construction, consumer goods, mining, fencing, and industrial wire industries, providing opportunities to grow your technical expertise and industry knowledge.
Ideally, you hold a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Materials Science, Engineering, or a Physical Science discipline. A commitment to learning and self-development in a practical, production-based setting is equally important.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in:
* Metallurgical testing methods and standards
* Continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma)
* Quality management systems, especially IATF/TS 16949
Skills & Attributes
We seek someone with strong numeracy skills and a solid understanding of statistical analysis, who enjoys working with data to identify trends and drive improvements. A practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving is essential, along with critical thinking and effective response to challenges.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial. You should be comfortable collaborating across teams, influencing decisions, and presenting technical information clearly and accessibly.
A strong customer focus is also vital. You should confidently represent the customer's perspective within the Mill and help ensure high standards are met. If you are organized, self-motivated, and adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving environment, this role is suitable for you.
