Salary : Grade 7, Point 8 - 14: £2,600 - £2,863 per annum (subject to experience) & Grade 5, Point 5 -6: £11,003 - £11,177 per annum (subject to experience) Contract : Fixed-Term until August 2026, 22 hours, 40 minutes per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus inset days) We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support the learning, emotional well-being, and social development of our pupils. You will also undertake the role of Senior Teaching Assistant for 4 hours, 10 minutes per week to cover PPA. The role will include: Supporting the class teacher in delivering high quality teaching and learning Assist in the preparation and organisation of classroom resources Work with individual or small groups of pupils to reinforce learning Help to create a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment Promote good behaviour and support the emotional wellbeing of pupils Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families We are looking for someone who: Has a genuine passion for working with children Is patient, caring, and enthusiastic Can build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff Has good communication and organisational skills To find out more about the benefits of working for SAST, click here For more information about our school, please click here. In line with KCSIE guidance, this will be part of safer recruitment checks, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not be on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern. Safeguarding responsibilities associated with this role may include engagement in regulatory activity, such as administering first aid or supporting an upset child. It will have contact with young people on a day-to-day basis. The successful candidate will have to meet the person specification, and the post is subject to safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS check and Children’s Barred List check.
