Overview:
Are you passionate about education and driven to make a real difference? Whether you're a teacher who feels limited by the current system or an education leader ready to broaden your impact, this is your opportunity to shape the future of teaching and learning. At GCSE Classroom Ltd., we're not just creating an online teaching and learning platform — we’re reimagining how education can empower both teachers and students. As our new Head of Education, you’ll be at the heart of that mission, leading strategy, inspiring innovation, and championing meaningful change across the sector.
In this role, you’ll have the freedom and space that the classroom so often denies — time to think deeply, creatively, and strategically about what secondary education truly needs. Working alongside a forward-thinking team, you’ll help shape a bold vision for how innovation and technology can genuinely support teachers and improve student outcomes. This isn’t about short-term fixes — it’s about long-term impact. You’ll be empowered to lead that change, with the authority and backing to turn ideas into action and drive meaningful progress across subjects, schools, and systems.
The Head of Education will oversee all aspects of the educational strategy and curriculum development at GCSE Classroom Ltd., ensuring that the content and resources provided on Classroom 42 and The PE Classroom align with the highest educational standards. You will have overall responsibility for all subjects, managing subject specialists and content creators to develop engaging, effective, and curriculum-aligned materials.
In this key leadership role, you will also act as the "voice" of the company, passionately advocating for our educational philosophy, innovation, and platform features. You will work closely with the Head of Product to ensure the educational integrity of the platform while collaborating with the Head of Marketing to communicate the company’s values, teaching methodologies, and educational resources to schools and teachers through various channels. You will drive efforts to reach as many teachers as possible through webinars, events, social media, email marketing, podcasts, and other outreach strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Curriculum Oversight & Development: Oversee the development and implementation of curriculum content across all subjects, ensuring all educational materials meet current GCSE standards and are of the highest quality.
* Leadership & Team Management: Lead a team of subject specialists and content creators across various disciplines, providing guidance and support to ensure consistent educational excellence.
* Collaboration with Product Team: Work closely with the Head of Product to ensure platform features are both educationally innovative and meet the needs of teachers and students. Ensure tools and resources enhance the teaching and learning experience.
* Educational Strategy & Innovation: Lead the development of teaching methodologies, assessment strategies, and student outcome tracking systems to ensure the platform’s content contributes to student success and aligns with educational best practices.
* Voice of the Company: Act as the ambassador for the company’s educational vision, values, and features. Represent the company in conversations with schools and teachers, advocating for the platform’s benefits and educational innovation.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Work with the Head of Marketing to communicate the company’s educational views, platform features, and membership benefits through various outreach methods, including email, webinars, conferences, events, social media, podcasts, and more.
* Quality Assurance: Ensure all content on the platform is accurate, relevant, and up-to-date, aligning with national curriculum standards and the latest teaching practices.
* Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with internal teams to regularly update and improve educational content, ensuring it stays current, relevant, and beneficial for both teachers and students.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Experience in a leadership role within education, ideally with a focus on secondary education, curriculum development, or a teaching background.
* A deep passion for educational innovation and technology.
* Strong knowledge of the GCSE curriculum and experience in developing teaching strategies, assessments, and tracking student outcomes.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate the company’s educational vision to teachers, schools, and external stakeholders.
* Experience in public speaking, content creation, and delivering webinars or workshops.
* Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with content creators, product developers, and marketing teams.
* A genuine interest in driving change and innovation in the education sector.
Preferred Qualifications:
* A teaching background or a postgraduate qualification in education or a related field.
* Experience or interest in EdTech and familiarity with digital learning tools and learning management systems (LMS).
Benefits:
* Competitive salary and benefits package.
* Opportunity to shape the future of education in a fast-growing EdTech company.
