Full-Time Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support – KS3)
Location: Cardiff CF5
Contract: 5th January 2026 – 17th July 2026 (potential for extension)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:15pm
Pay: £90 per day (increasing in April 2026)

We are looking for a dedicated Full-Time Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a KS3 pupil in a welcoming, mainstream secondary school in the Cardiff CF5 area. The school hopes to have the successful candidate fully cleared and familiar with the environment before Christmas. Trial sessions will take place during the weeks commencing 8th and 15th December, so availability during this period is highly desirable.
The Role
You will work closely with a KS3 pupil who requires additional support, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and flourish both academically and socially. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Providing tailored 1:1 support based on the pupil’s individual needs
* Helping the pupil engage with class activities and access learning confidently
* Supporting the development of essential social, emotional, and communication skills
* Following personalised strategies and learning plans set by teachers and SEN specialists
* Encouraging independence, resilience, and positive relationships

Requirements
To be considered for this position, you will need:
* An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (support can be provided if needed)
* EWC registration (guidance available if you are new to this)
* Two recent references from employers or relevant roles
