Job Description
The successful candidate will:
Financial Operations & Accounting
1. Proactively refines and implements enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness of core accounting processes.
2. Manages month end and year end close.
3. Manages audits and relationships with CPA firms, banks, valuation firms, and insurers.
4. Maintains the general ledger, chart of accounts, and all supporting schedules.
5. Oversees AR, AP, bank reconciliations, and cash flow management.
6. Ensures compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies.
7. Serves as the administrator for the company's 401(k) and ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan).
8. Provides Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Support
9. Implements and maintains standard costing, job costing, and variance analysis.
10. Partners with production to assess and report margin performance.
11. Monitors inventory valuation, cycle counts, and material cost changes.
12. Prepares weekly and monthly operational finance dashboards as may be required.
Financial Planning & Strategy
13. Leads the annual budget, forecasting, and scenario modeling.
14. Partners quarterly with the President to build and present financial and business results to the Board of Directors.
15. Delivers actionable insights on profitability and operational efficiency.
16. Models and supports long-term planning, capital investment decisions, staffing decisions, and margin analysis and creating improvement initiatives as may be required.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement
17. Strengthens financial systems, policies, and workflows as the company scales.
18. Creates visible KPI reports that drive awareness for leadership and departments.
19. Manages and improves internal controls to safeguard company assets.
20. Functions as the on-site expert for the ESOP, (if unfamiliar, willing to learn), including employee education, plan compliance, coordination with trustees, and annual valuation.
21. Prepares financial data for ESOP valuation firms and ensures timely, accurate reporting.
22. Serves as the Administrator for the ERP system and manages all service contracts.

The Successful Applicant
The successful Controller will:
23. MUST have a strong prior working knowledge of manufacturing Cost Accounting
24. Approximately 5-7 years of experience in cost accounting
25. Happy to work 5 days per week in the office (Oxford, MA)
26. Strong Excel skills
27. Excellent team player
28. Strong written and verbal communication skills
