About the role
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will oversee all aspects of the design phase of multiple major projects, supporting the Design Manager, and providing technical support to stakeholders throughout the business. Our major projects typically include electrical and civil designs for ICP connections, private networks, and renewable energy projects. This is a full-time permanent role based from home and our office in Wakefield.
Responsibilities include:
* Design checks on all construction, civil, or electrical drawings issued by designers and contractors
* Minor design amendments and AutoCAD work as needed
* Delivery of the design phase of projects up to 400kV with appropriate use of specialist contractors
* Escalate any risks or nonconformances to the manager
* Manage day-to-day activities of design contractors on assigned projects
* Be the main point of contact for clients regarding design issues
* Validate contractor invoices against programme and contract within delegated authority
* Maintain positive cash flow and escalate financial variations to the design manager
About you
This role is ideal for someone with experience in a design role, with knowledge of electricity, power distribution systems, or the renewables industry. You should have a strong working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar software and experience managing the design phase of projects from tender to construction. Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail are essential.
