Project Quality Control Inspector Deeside travel With a track record of 50 years in the nuclear energy sector, Boccard is ideally placed to serve this new era of nuclear as a leading specialist in engineering, manufacturing, construction and maintenance across the energy industry. To support our continued growth, Boccard are looking for a qualified Project Quality Inspector, based at our new fully digital manufacturing facility in Deeside with regular travel to other sites. This role will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of conforming products by carrying out anticipatory, monitoring and improvement actions with suppliers. Key responsibilities Travel to suppliers for raw material inspections Carry out the documentation review of documents such as 3.1/3.2 certificates for materials and consumables - complete inspection and release documents - Based at the company fabrication workshop in Deeside, with travel to a supplier twice a week - To carry out inspections welding, NDT & Painting when required - To carry out independent inspections of BOCCARD & its suppliers work (checker of the checker) - To generate and / or review documentation, procedures, ITPs, end of manufacturing supports, LTQRs, release certificates etc - To follow the controlling document steps and signing off where applicable to evidence that the steps are completed and accepted - To ensure the controlling document is compliant at all stages of manufacture - Documentation is then sent to the client for review and there is a focus on right first time which KPIs are measured so it is imperative to have an eye for detail - SharePoint and windows software is used and a competence is required - Carry out product and process inspections in accordance with the applicable standards (technical specifications, CoC, SPA,), - Carry out or participate in technical product qualifications, - Review and approve the technical documents and quality of the supplier to release the material, - Ensure requirements of customers, third parties or representatives, - Having the ability to form strong relationships with both internal and external parties is essential - Conduct progress action plans with suppliers, - Decide on the "quarantine" release of the products for which he is responsible - Carry out audits, quality meetings, inspection of suppliers / subcontractors, monitoring of prefabrications or on-site activities - Participate in the continuous improvement program. - Carry out inspections before, during and after. - Always put safety first. Ensure that the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) is monitored and respected at each manufacturing/installation step. The ITP is the governing document which ensures the manufacturing/installation activities, and the project are in line with the client quality requirements. Qualifications and Experience Advanced knowledge of modern welding procedures Excellent communication skills with a good eye for detail Computer literate and willing to train on internal digital platforms Previous Nuclear experience preferred Experience operating in a fast and high volume production environment NDT qualification CSWIP 3.1, PCN Level 2 PT and MT and painting & coating qualification are essential In-depth knowledge in one or more technical fields (mechanics, welding, materials, control, GC, EIA in the context of EPC offers,) Reading and understanding / interpreting plans, ISO, Specifications Able to travel extensively to other sites Working Knowledge of RCCM, BSEN ISO 13480, 9001, 19443, 15614, 5817, 9606 Ability to assess certification against the requirements of the specifications Ability to review technical documentation such as Lifetime Quality Records, accept or comment based on the contract requirements Competent in visiting suppliers and assessing materials & / or manufactured items for their compliance to the requirements Follow the manufacturing process by updating the ITP/FUD with your signature against the applicable tasks and ensuring the document is utilised as the controlling document Compensation and Remuneration A highly competitive salary Pension scheme 25 days annual leave On-going investment in your training and development Life Assurance x4 salary Employee Assistance Programme At Boccard we strive to be a diverse and inclusive employer and we commit to achieving equal opportunities in employment for all suitably qualified candidates.
