Assistant Accountant | Oswestry | Salary: £30,000–£37,000 | Contract: Full-Time | Onsite Seymour John is delighted to partner with a well-established business near Oswestry to recruit an Assistant Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated finance professional to play a key role in a dynamic team, supporting the Finance Controller and contributing to the company’s success. You’ll be involved in a broad range of responsibilities, from preparing financial reports to supporting audits, giving you exposure to all aspects of accounting and the chance to develop your skills further. What You’ll Be Doing * Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. * Maintaining accurate financial records and reconciliations (Balance Sheet & P&L). * Performing margin analysis by product line. * Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. * Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations. * Supporting audits and collaborating across departments to resolve queries. What We’re Looking For * Degree in Accounting/Finance or working towards ACCA/CIMA. * 1–2 years’ experience in accounting or finance (internships welcome). * Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems * Detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organised. * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
