First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO) are looking for an experienced Plumber (Multiskilled Operative) to carry out repairs and maintenance across our homes and buildings in Oldham.
You'll work across occupied and void properties, resolving plumbing issues and completing multiskilled repairs to help keep our customers homes safe and well maintained.
The impact you’ll make
Your work will directly support our residents by ensuring homes are safe, well maintained and repaired quickly. From plumbing repairs to supporting wider maintenance work, you will help resolve issues efficiently while providing a positive experience for our customers.
What you'll be doing:
* Plumbing repairs and maintenance across tenanted and void properties
* Diagnosing faults and completing repairs during the same visit where possible
* Carrying out damp and mould washes and treatments in line with organisational procedures
* Managing materials, tools and equipment required to complete repairs
* Working within a pre allocated appointment system and liaising directly with customers when needed
* Carrying out inspections, diagnostics and pre measuring to support efficient repairs
* Ensuring completed work meets agreed quality standards
* Updating repair records and job information using PDAs or other electronic systems
* Maintaining vehicle stock levels to minimise downtime
* Identifying and reporting any risks, defects or issues that could affect customers or FCHO assets
* Working safely in line with health and safety legislation and risk assessments
* Supporting apprentices, trainees or colleagues where required
* Participating in the out of hours emergency repairs rota
Our ideal candidate:
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, delivers great customer service and enjoys solving problems.
You will have:
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing (or working towards it) or equivalent experience
• Experience carrying out repairs and maintenance in occupied and void properties
• Strong plumbing knowledge with additional skills across other trades such as joinery
• A good understanding of health and safety practices
• Experience working directly with customers and members of the public
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your workload effectively
• The ability to diagnose problems and resolve repairs independently
• Confidence using IT systems and mobile devices to update job records
• A full clean UK driving licence
You will also need to:
• Hold or obtain UKATA Asbestos Awareness training
• Participate in the out of hours call out rota
• Work flexibly, including evenings or weekends where required
